Support group therapy options in Johnson County

Support groups can be an excellent way to hear from people in our community who are also on a journey after traumatic events and crimes.

Group options vary throughout the year based on demand. Check back often or contact us to be added to a waiting list for more information.

Sexual Assault Survivor’s Support Group happening Wednesdays at 4pm

Sexual Assault Survivor’s Support Group meets at ASSIST’s office every Wednesday afternoon at 4pm.

In the first half of these roughly 60-minute long group sessions, women who have experienced domestic violence engage in processing and emotional support.

In the second half of each session, trained therapists and group leaders focus on education and ways to empower participants.

You can share as much or as little as you want. You can always trust this is a safe space, held in strict confidence with other members.

Yes, group sessions are free.

Are there limits to who can attend?

Yes, there are some limits. Groups are usually limited to no more than 15-20 people and may have restrictions on types of people involved, such as by gender, background, or support needs.
