ASSIST stands for Advocacy and Specialized Services for Interventions for Survivors of Trauma. We are a regional patient advocacy, local rape crisis, child advocacy center, and forensic healthcare program located in Franklin, Indiana.
ASSIST provides free, local, trauma-informed services to individuals and families impacted by all forms of violence – including, but not limited to:
- Child abuse and child sexual assault
- Human trafficking
- Domestic violence
- Post-traumatic stress
- Occupational trauma
- Relational trauma
- Witness to crime or violence
- And other interpersonal or systemic harms
A complete set of survivor services all under one roof
Our multidisciplinary team (we call it a “MDT” for short) offers coordinated care that includes:
- Child and survivor advocacy
- Crisis intervention
- Counseling
- Case management
- Forensic medical examinations
- Child forensic interviews
- And child abuse prevention education

ASSIST exists to end interpersonal violence by empowering and supporting victims and survivors of sexual violence, child abuse, human trafficking, and other forms of violence through compassionate advocacy, comprehensive care, and coordinated, victim-centered services – all in one safe, inclusive location.
We are committed to healing, justice, and prevention through community collaboration and education.
Services are optional and offered at no cost and subject to availability of grant funding, donations or gifts.
