We’re thrilled to announce that ASSIST has been selected as a 2026 Heal the Healers grant recipient!
The Joyful Heart Foundation’s Heal the Healers Fund helps ease the effects of secondary trauma for professionals who support survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence and child abuse. Our nurses, advocates, forensic interviewers and therapists sit with survivors and their families through some of the hardest moments of their lives. Caring for them well means caring for the people who do that work, too.
A Staff Retreat Space at ASSIST
With this grant, we’ll create a Staff Retreat Space inside ASSIST and have a place where our team can step away, rest and recharge during the workday, so we can keep showing up for survivors in Johnson County and beyond.
