This training is a FREE two and a half hour training teaching adults how to identify, prevent, and respond to child sexual abuse. This training is very powerful in the fact that it uses survivor stories. Stewards of Children® is designed for any adult who cares for or about children. It is also an effective training for schools working to meet the adult requirements of Indiana Senate Bill 447 (Erin’s Law – 856), which requires child abuse and neglect training for school employees.

Abuse education for schools

Kids learn age-appropriate advice for understanding their bodies, safe and unsafe touches, signs of grooming, and how to talk about abuse

Child Safety Matters (CSM) is a comprehensive, evidence-based curriculum for elementary school students in grades K-6.

Teen Safety Matters (TSM) is for middle and high school students in grades 6-8 and 9-12.

Both programs educate and empower students and all relevant adults with information and strategies to prevent, recognize, and respond appropriately to bullying, cyberbullying, all types of abuse, and digital abuse dangers.

Presentation includes an interactive lesson that includes PowerPoints, lecture, group discussion, skills-practice activities, videos, and games.

Two independent research studies have examined the effectiveness of the program with positive results for both student knowledge gains and facilitator implementation fidelity.

The program was developed with schools, not for schools, to make the best use of existing resources and ensure schools have effective programs that are easy to implement.— School administrator
